Audio Drama Debut - Transcript - S01E02

All of the words I said out loud for S01E02 of Audio Drama Debut, my podcast showcasing new audio drama, fiction and RPG trailers.

F/X - Fountain pen writing, and then being capped.

THE LIBRARIAN: Hello there. Please, please, come in. Will you join me in a tiny battenberg? There you go, lovely. I do enjoy food with a pattern. Welcome back to the library of audio fiction. If you've come looking for something to listen to, I can offer you dramas, books, stories, actual plays and possibly a few other things.

Let's have a dig through the archives. How about a tale of survival in a post-apocalyptic zombie world? No? Okay then, maybe a comedy about space doctors? Hmm, alright. Ah! Here we go. There's this one in which the personification of a season has a really miserable time. No. Right, fine, I see you staring hungrily at my in-tray. Yes, I've probably got a few recent acquisitions. I'll show you those, you rapacious devil.

Here we go, what's this first one? The Program audio series is a historical podcast set in a future in which Money, State, and God became fused into a single entity called the Program. Each episode is a self-contained story focusing on ordinary people inhabiting this extraordinary world. And for them, it is not this future that is terrifying - it is our present.

Just press play on that.

Then there's this week's actual play. But are you allowed to listen to it? Give me a quick persuasion roll. SF. Ooh, that's high, you've convinced me. Let's see here - Favored Terrain is an independently produced actual play podcast about seven friends on the adventure of a lifetime. Well, here we go.

And you said you wanted something a bit more silly as well? This should do you - Unnecessary Sequels. Join comedians Brandon and Walker as they make sequels to movies that shouldn't have them in the form of fully-produced comedic audio dramas that continue the stories of films where most of the characters died or moved on with their lives. With their Mel Brooksian senses of humor and zany wit, Brandon and Walker show you where characters have ended up with brand new stories, while also poking fun at the original movies that they love so much.

And finally a mystery. Waking up with no memory was just the beginning of her journey... This is "Discovery Park", a new mystery audio drama from Throw'm in the Puget Productions. They're the people who brought you the audio drama "Passage." That's on the shelf just behind you, by the way.

Right, that's your lot for this week. Come back later, and I'm sure we'll have had some more sent in. And don't forget, if you happen to see a show out in the wild that we don't have, tell them to tell the people who run our twitter account. I've got a post it note here somewhere, ah yes, here we go. The address is @AudioDramaDebut.

Anyway, cheerio!
