Welcome, to The Floor is Monsters. A Tabletop actual play show. A post-apocalyptic world where the last remnants of civilization live in the highest floors of Skyscraper settlements with monsters overwhelming the ground below. An ever-growing, corrupting forest with bizarre magical radiation that transforms its inhabitants, dubbed the Arbor Arcana, seeps up the rubbled buildings constantly creeping towards the top of civilization’s last respite. No one in the settlement can claim they know of a person who has touched the forest floor itself and returned alive. Sky bridges, ziplines, platforms, and pulleys make life as manageable as it could be - but confinement comes with incredible difficulty. Settlements are vertically stratified, with those on the highest levels hoarding resources and long-lost technology while those who cannot afford to move up succumb to the transformation brought on by the magical rising vines, becoming The Overgrown. Over generations, the lore and history of the world has been replaced by a horizon of treetops, with old world knowledge and skills remaining exclusive to the, literal, upper class. Citizens work their hardest to find purpose. Divers scavenge beneath the treetops for supplies. Runners transfer messages across the settlement. Inquisitors, if there are any remaining, take expeditions to learn about the arbor arcana and strike back against the horrors of the wood. And far away on a clear night, you may be lucky enough to spy an orbiting moon base of unknown origin, called Bastion, one of many old world relics that have taken on a role of celestial inspiration for those below that they might find a similar refuge above the wastes. But above all else – beyond any other truth or curiosity of this world – one thing is certain. Tread lightly – because… The Floor Is Monsters.
