October - December 2018 Audio Drama/Fiction Podcast Debut Releases

The Audio Verse Award nominations are now open. You can nominate anything you like for some of the categories, but the "new" ones are restricted to anything released between 1st October 2018 and 30th September 2019. My monthly podcast release lists only go back to the start of 2019, so here's a quick round-up of everything that started in October to December next year. Anything I've missed?

10/1: Death By Dying (Fiction - Comedy)
The Obituary Writer of Crestfall, Idaho finds himself deeply in over his head as he investigates a series of strange and mysterious deaths… when he is supposed to simply be writing obituaries. Along the way he encounters murderous farmers, man-eating cats, haunted bicycles, and a healthy dose of ominous shadows.

10/1: Flyest Fables (Fiction - Fantasy)
Flyest Fables is an interconnected fiction anthology. In the premiere episode, we meet Antoine — a young boy bullied in school. Antoine finds a magical book that transports him into the world of Princess Keisha. Princess Keisha is on a quest to save her mother and the entire Kingdom of Orleans.

Living in 2014, Jonathan Harker never imagined the nightmare that would engulf him when he traveled to the backwaters of Romania to complete a real estate deal with the reclusive Count Dracula. Cut off from friends, phone reception, and even basic electricity, Jonathan discovers too late that he’s walked blindly into a deathtrap. 10/18: Exeter (Drama - Thriller)

10/24: Blackwood (Drama - Horror)
Five years ago, Molly Weaver, Bryan Anderson, and Nathan Howell started a podcast focused on the local legend of a monster called The Blackwood Bugman. Quickly, the investigation grew out of their control, as they discovered that, not only are the legends seemingly true, many people in Blackwood have turned up dead or disappeared without a trace. 10/28: Janus Descending (Drama - Science fiction)
A limited series, science fiction/horror audio drama podcast, follows the arrival of two xenoarcheologists on a small world orbiting a binary star. But what starts off as an expedition to survey the planet and the remains of a lost alien civilization, turns into a monstrous game of cat and mouse, as the two scientists are left to face the creatures that killed the planet in the first place. Told from two alternating perspectives, Janus Descending is an experience of crossing timelines, as one character describes the nightmare from end to beginning, and the other, from beginning to the end.

American Comedy Horror Story is a self-contained audio (comedy) drama. The story takes place in London’s underground system where an organisation called The London Necropolis Railway works to move the souls of the dead out of London to avoid the city getting overrun with hauntings. Barney works at the LNR, he’s one of the ghouls whose job it is to ensure that the souls end up on the trains that take them to the hereafter. He is bored with his job and tired of his endless existence when one day a soul refuses get on the train. The soul, a private investigator named Agnes, convinces Barney to help her catch the demon she was hunting when she died. Together they have to confront his boss, the demon that wants them dead, and even death itself.
